3/12/2007 今天開學第一天, 結束了我的懶散spring break

昨天下午2點, 調快1小時日光節約時間, 看完電影後去收信時, 突然發現時間已經改了, 頓時被奪走了1小時...  (時差啊...)

好險美國政府英明, 每次改時間都發生在Sunday,

如果在平常日, 我想大家會抓狂吧~

The "U.S. Energy Policy Act of 2005" passed by the U.S. Congress in July 2005 extended Daylight Saving Time (DST) in the U.S. by approximately four weeks. As a result, DST in 2007 will start three weeks earlier on March 11, 2007, and end one week later on November 4, 2007 . The new DST period is four weeks longer than previously observed.

The United States Government’s decision to extend Daylight Saving Time (DST) by four weeks will influence both IT and enterprises in numerous ways.  We in IT have been almost anxiously awaiting this change (not) with bated breath.  For the last few weeks IT has been patching systems and getting ready our systems for this change.  Regardless of patches and updates, there still may little hiccups in the road ahead.  These issues can potentially affect many systems including our servers, blackberrys, calendar entries, etc.   We hope all will go smooth but should you experience problems, please let us know.  Thanks for your cooperation.

FYI - Shifting Time

The Energy Policy Act of 2005 represents one of the most significant changes to U.S. energy policy in decades. Beyond implementing incentives for increased domestic oil production and use of renewable fuels, it extends DST for a total of four weeks in an effort to save energy.

DST, which was standardized in the U.S. under the Uniform Time Act of 1966, has until now been in effect from the first Sunday of April to the last Sunday of October. After the law takes effect in 2007, DST will run from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November.
